The VybeVoyage
March 2020 - Current Day
IT STARTED AS A COVID HOBBY, AND THE REST WAS HISTORY…
In March 2020, while cleaning out my closet, I stumbled upon random packs of tie-dye ink bottles. Side Note: At the time, I was laid off due to Covid-19, which explains my "closet cleaning" project. Nonetheless, curiosity and intuition kept me from trashing the bottles.
Covid-19 put an odd damper on much of our lives including my sister's 24th birthday. However, she still decided to have a small gathering with two friends in our family's backyard to celebrate. The lightbulb went off, giving me an idea to dust off the tie-dye the bottles, and bring them for her celebration.
Let’s fast forward to April for my sister’s birthday…
Magically, my sister's friends in attendance provided helpful pointers since they had tie-dyed before. After unraveling the t-shirts the next day, I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome and thought, “Hmm... this is cool, but I think I can create something better than this…” And the rest is history from there!
Since that monumental moment in my life, I’ve been hooked—creating nonstop, learning new techniques, and growing as an artist. Between free-time and the supportive company I started working for during Covid, I was tie-dyeing non-stop. Creating art for myself led to creating art for others, then eventually I started teaching others to tie-dye.
With time, I had the blueprint and the confidence to start a passion project... VybeTye.
Growing up, I always wanted to change the world on a monumental level; I figured simple day-to-day positive actions would be the extent of my purpose on Earth. After discovering tie-dye, I knew I was gifted to fulfill my dreams of leaving a positive impact on the world.
Why do I love tie-dye?
1. The process is simple. No right or wrong way to perform the art, which encourages liberated crafting.
2. It blends my love of art and fashion.
3. Every piece I create carries immaculate vybes that I get to share with others.
4. It enhances problem solving skills. Tie-dye is a continuous process of crafting until you’re completely satisfied with the outcome.
5. I’ve rediscovered my love for creativity which has snowballed into other creative avenues like sound healing with crystal sound bowls.
6. As a Tie-dye & Wellness Guide, I can help others tap into their inner-creative and find peace.
7. My purpose has been confirmed, which is helping spread joy and creating a calm, colorfully connected community.
Thank you very much for your interest in VybeTye <3
